Oral presentation: Cultural topic








The Gaudí awards
Hello! We're Èlia Carreras and Miquel Farreras. Our presentation is about the Gaudí Awards.
We will start talking about why was that celebration created. Then, we will be talking about some films, and about the best of them. We will keep talking about the awards of this gala.
And finally, we will talk about our conclusions.

How did it start?
The Catalan film academy was created with the objective to be the unitary voice of the Catalan cinema, formed by all creative and productive sectors of the professionals in artistic and scientific subjects, similarly to other film academies.


Its principles
Founding principles are:
1. Identity in cinematographic productions.
2. Scientific study in the language of cinema and diffuse in this knowledge.
3. Cohesion of cinematographic Catalan sector.
4. Promotion of the Catalan cinema
5. Contribute to the internationalization of Catalan films.
6. Promoting discussion forms and debates.
7. Support young talent.
8. Capitalize the potential of the Catalan cinema
9. Celebrate the annual awards and give them prestige.
10. Obtain the international recognition of the academy.
11. Involvement in the wording affecting cinema.
12. Involvement in the politics of cinematographic subsidies or policy.


4th gala of the Gaudí awards
On monday 6th of February at 22 o'clock the theatre Artèria Paral·lel welcomed the gala of the  delivery to the 4th premis gaudí of the academy of Catalan cinema. This edition, was inspired by the musical world. Under the artistic direction of the actor, director and academic president, Joel Joan and the director productor Ferran Audí, the gala was guided by the actor and singer Xavi Miró and the actress Alba Florejachs. They will give the awards to the winners of the 22 categories.

Mientras Duermes
Cesar is working as a doorman in an apartment building. His job allows him to get to know all tenants of the building. Its position is easier to control his comings and goings, study them, etc.
Caesar has a secret: he likes to hurt, move the pieces necessary to create pain around him. And the new neighbor in 5 º B keeps smiling. So she soon becomes  the new target of Caesar. An obsession. The game will begin to Caesar more complicated account. Soon it becomes unpredictable. And it becomes dangerous.


D'ABRIL. MACIÀ CONTRA COMPANYS
Macia and companys are two charismatic personalities, two ways to understand politics and Catalan, on 14 April of 1931 a revolution staged by both sides. For three days, Catalonia was a republic, but internal divisions forced Macia to settle an autonomous regime which was christened with a forgotten name: the Government of Catalonia.


KATMANDU, UN ESPEJO EN EL CIELO
Laia, a young teacher, moved to Kathmandu to more useful work and, there discovered  the extreme poverty and an education level is unfortunate, in addition to rejecting the needy. To legalize their situation, they are forced into a marriage of convenience. Laia plans to develop an interesting educational program in the slums of Kathmandu,soon realizes that he needs the help of the teacher Sharmila to understand the background of the Nepalese people.


BRUC, LA LLEGENDA
When Napoleon's army discovered that its first loss is due to a small mountain guy to a coalwith its drum roll that caused panic among his troops, he sent six thousand hardened mercenaries in battles with one mission: to hunt for him in Montserrat mountains and cut off his head and fixing it on the town square. After terrorizing the whole town with their threats, they initiate their search through the mountains of Montserrat. Bruc (JuanJose Ballesta) must fight alone for the first time to survive.
